Omar Smailbegovic
Partner - Facultative Reinsurance

Omar is responsible for providing operational leadership for our Global Facultative Reinsurance business, focusing on organisational strategy and service execution on behalf of our clients.
Omar started his (re)insurance career in 2002 as an underwriter at Euler Hermes. With almost 20 years’ experience in the industry, he has worked in a series of roles across M&A advisory, corporate finance divisions and held various leadership roles, the most recent being Head of Strategy and Operations for Guy Carpenter’s International Facultative Reinsurance division.
If he wasn’t working at McGill and Partners, Omar would probably be a property developer somewhere on the Dalmatian Coast.
