Laura Skaanild
Partner - Financial Lines

Laura is a Partner in our Financial Lines team, bringing over 25 years of legal and insurance expertise to McGill and Partners, having previously led the Global Financial Institutions team as a Partner at Lockton.
She specialises in advising on Professional Indemnity (PI), Directors’ and Officers’ Liability, and Crime insurance solutions. Her client portfolio spans private firms to major listed global organisations, including asset managers, private equity houses, corporate service providers, banks and more. With a strong background in insurance coverage litigation, Laura offers strategic guidance on policy wordings, placement structures, and optimising claims outcomes—ensuring clients receive robust, tailored protection.
If Laura was not working for McGill and Partners, she would be doing something to do with food or fitness, perhaps a performance nutritionist or biohacker!
